Swimming in the lake:
Access to the lake is free everywhere. Right in Malcesine there is a town beach "Spiaggia Paina", where there is also a lido. In the nearby Val di Sogno bay you can enjoy Lake Garda and sunbathe in peace.
Sporting activities:
South and north of Malcesine there are numerous surf schools offering wind surfing, stand-up paddling and kiting
or sailing schools with corresponding offers. Diving schools round off the offer.
Sailing boats can be hired in the port of Navene and in Val di Sogno.
The area is ideal for numerous mountain bike and racing bike tours: bikes can be rented in Malcesine.
Malcesine is also an international hotspot for paragliding. The panoramic cable car to Monte Baldo starts directly from the centre.
Hikes:
from Malcesine there are numerous hiking trails with appealing destinations on the high plateau above Malcesine (where our flat is located) or also towards Monte Baldo. One particularly worthwhile hike is to the Madonne dell' Accoglienza, a statue of the Virgin Mary with a breathtaking view of Lake Garda and Malcesine (only a 10-minute walk from our flat). Another very famous hike is the Sentiero delle Busatte from Torbole, which touches wonderful viewpoints on numerous iron stairs.
Chiesa San Michele also offers a worthwhile view and nice hiking trails.
Excursions:
Places of interest include: the pile-dwelling museum on Lake Ledro, the Cascata del Varone near Riva, the abandoned
artists' village of Campo near Brenzone, the picturesque mountain church of Madonna della Corona.
The Parco Natura Viva near Lazise, an animal park with 1500 animals from giraffes to tigers and kangaroos,
is also very popular with families.
The popular amusement parks Gardaland, Movieland, La Quiete Adventure Park, Parco Cavour and Canevaworld
are on the south side of Lake Garda, about 40 km from Malcesine.
In the transitional season you can visit the thermal baths of Colá, which are surrounded by a park with woods
and a 500 sqm thermal lake (water temperature 37 degrees).
Those who would like to make an excursion to the cities can go to Verona,
or visit the nearby towns on Lake Garda Torbole, Riva, Garda or Bardolino.
The small town of Limone can be reached very easily by ferry from Malcesine.
